Brief
Chivas Brothers—part of Pernod Ricard and proud custodians of legendary Scotch whiskies like Chivas Regal and The Glenlivet—recently invited us to help modernise their digital signage system. Building on our trusted partnership with Irish Distillers, their sister company, we were thrilled to take on the challenge of elevating internal communications and refreshing branded media across their Scottish distilleries.
This ambitious project spanned multiple sites and included a full redesign of reception and internal screen layouts, the creation of branded templates for announcements and emergency messaging, and a visual overhaul of their video wall content. The aim? To ensure every message was not only on-brand but also purposeful and visually compelling.
Approach
We kicked things off by diving into Chivas’ brand guidelines and collaborating with teams across varied environments—from corporate offices to bustling bottling plants. To support clarity and consistency, we developed themed templates tailored for HR, IT, and employee resource groups, each designed to stand out while staying true to the brand’s identity.
On the technical side, we inherited a system with minimal documentation. Working hand-in-hand with the Comms and IT teams, we mapped out screen locations, confirmed network access, and rebuilt the CMS structure from the ground up. Each site was given its own unique channel, enabling centralised control via a master playlist while still allowing local teams to upload content independently.
We reconfigured every player with conditional play rules, enabling targeted messaging—from network-wide updates to screen-specific content—all deployed without a single moment of downtime.
Result
Today, Chivas Brothers enjoy a flexible, intuitive CMS that supports both broad and granular content distribution. The Canva-built templates have empowered the Internal Comms team to create fresh, on-brand content with ease—offering far more creative freedom than PowerPoint and keeping their screens vibrant, relevant, and engaging for years to come.
