Brief
Home to Jameson and a world-class whiskey lineup, Irish Distillers has been crafting liquid gold since 1966. From their Midleton Distillery in Cork, they blend heritage, innovation, and bold flavour into every bottle.
We’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Irish Distillers (part of the Penrod-Ricard Group) for several years now, supporting their digital signage network to ensure vital internal communications and health & safety messaging reach employees across a diverse range of locations—from corporate offices to the heart of their distilleries.
Their screen estate is impressively varied, serving multiple functions: welcoming visitors at Reception, keeping staff informed with internal updates, and delivering critical health & safety alerts via remote-triggered messaging. It’s a robust system designed to be both practical and responsive.
In 2024, we were entrusted with a special project: refreshing the screen layout designs in honour of the 200th anniversary of the iconic Midleton Distillery in 2025. This milestone called for something visually striking yet respectful of the brand’s heritage.
Approach
After presenting several design concepts to the Internal Communications team, one was selected that beautifully balanced modernity with tradition. Thanks to the modular layout templates we’d developed during a previous update, rolling out the new design was seamless. The final layout features a subtle background gallery showcasing evocative imagery from Midleton’s rich history—adding depth and storytelling to everyday communications.
More recently, we commissioned a new Onelan CMS system to future-proof their network. The migration was smooth: we began by streamlining the existing file system to reduce the backup size, then transferred the cleaned-up data to the new CMS. Once all user profiles and settings were verified, we remotely updated the subscription settings on each device to ensure uninterrupted service
Result
Irish Distillers’ setup cleverly combines shared playlists with content folders, allowing the global team to target screens across any location, while local teams enjoy a simple drag-and-drop interface for day-to-day updates. It’s a system that empowers both central oversight and local autonomy—keeping communications flowing efficiently across the entire organisation.
