Aviva Ireland

Aviva Stadium, Dublin from the air

Brief

Aviva Group Ireland is the Irish arm of British insurer Aviva plc, headquartered in Dublin. It traces its roots back to 1908, when it was established as Hibernian. Today, it offers a comprehensive range of general insurance products including motor, household, and commercial coverage, as well as pensions, protection plans, and savings and investment products. In Ireland, Aviva holds the market leader position in income protection, and in 2024 entered the healthcare market through Level Health, a joint venture start-up.

Initially drafted by AV Partners Conscia (formerly PlanNet21), Aviva had invested in a new on-premises VM CMS and needed more than just a lift-and-shift. The goal was to move existing devices across while taking the opportunity to build something fundamentally cleaner, a structure that made sense to the people using it every day, not just the people who built it.

Approach

Before a single device was touched, we focused on getting the foundations right. Layouts, playlists, schedules, and channels were all built out with a clear taxonomy, so that anyone publishing content would immediately understand where things belong and why. Good structure is invisible when it works, and that was the standard we set from the start.

Migration was handled cleanly and without disruption. All existing devices were moved across and resubscribed to the correct channels, and we took the opportunity to rationalise legacy content and artefacts that had accumulated over time, keeping the new CMS lean and free of the clutter that tends to make these systems unwieldy.

Reception screens received the same level of attention we brought to Allianz, an extensive layout design process to ensure brand alignment and a visitor experience that reflects Aviva at its best. First impressions matter, and the screens that greet visitors should feel considered, not like an afterthought.

Perhaps most importantly, we didn’t just hand over a finished system and walk away. End-user training, bespoke user guides, and digital signage best practice documentation were all delivered to ensure that teams across the business could create on-brand content with confidence, without needing to raise a support ticket every time.

Result

Aviva now has a CMS that works the way their teams think. Publishing is simpler, with less hunting, fewer clicks, and clear rules that everyone understands. Reception and internal screens present the brand consistently and with care. And the underlying structure is built to scale, growing with the organisation without becoming difficult to manage or maintain.
